Clair-Obscur Ronan bouroullec
Some projects are not decided, they are built slowly, by accumulation of trials, questioning and discoveries. Launched in 2022, the development of this series of lighting fixtures with Ronan Bouroullec followed this logic: three years of research into glass shapes, anodizing hues, assembly systems, and the study of light. A long, demanding process, at the service of an idea that is simple to formulate but complex to achieve.
Blam supported the designer throughout the technical development and manufacturing process, from the prototyping phase to the 23 pieces made for the final exhibition, presented at the Galerie Kreo from September 4 to November 1, 2025.
The luminaire rests on a central rod, thin as a rope, which concentrates the whole electrical system in a volume reduced to a minimum. Around her, the blown glass corollas diffuse a luminous halo that floods space. A soft, enveloping light that radiates outwards without ever imposing itself.
Blown glass comes in three shades: smoky, amber, transparent. While anodized aluminum is played in colorless or deep black. The series comes in three models: a wall lamp and two suspensions, with three or four glasses. But it is their ability to combine that fully reveals the project. Positioned in a circle, as a curtain, or freely in space, the lighting fixtures respond to each other and multiply. The system is modular, expandable to infinity.
